Elizabeth White is a registered psychologist with a background in pharmacy, previously working as a pharmacist in community pharmacy, hospital pharmacy and pharmacy research and education. She has since completed her psychology training and placements at Monash University, the University of Melbourne, the Royal Children’s Hospital, and in private practice with adult clients.
Elizabeth currently works in residential care settings, working with clients of any age who may live there for various physical and/or mental health reasons. In her work, Elizabeth offers compassion and support to help her clients develop their own understanding of how they feel and how they function in their relationships and their worlds, enabling clients to make their own adjustments within their lives. The main therapeutic approaches she draws from are Interpersonal Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing.
Elizabeth’s Areas of interest:
- Depression, grief and loss, adjustment to life transitions (of adulthood, older age)
- Anxiety, panic, trauma, stress
- Psychological adjustment to physical health issues (including neurological conditions and
- Anxiety about health or medical procedures
- Relationship issues, interpersonal difficulties.
